Overall score results where High and in their peak for RK3188 Chipset.CPU frequency results shows clock speeds of 1608 MHz as specified in Egreat product Specs. Device could probably tweaked higher, but if you don’t want it to heat it more best leave it in current settings exactly as there are.
Antutu Test Results Comparison
U8 Model [ Quad Core RK3188 Rockchip Chipset ]
U1 Model [ Dual Core RK3066 Rockchip Chipset ]
Device is easy to use and works very fast. it doesn’t heat up like many android boxes i personally tested including working in high load operation mode.
Device firmware is very easy to update. process and involves the following steps :
1 – Installing drivers according to PC OS.
2 – Pressing the update hole located in the bottom side of the box with a paper clip.
3 – Connecting the box to PC USB port via UTG port while pressing the update hole.
4 – Running Rockchip RKBatchTool Software in the background.
5 – Releasing the update hole switch.
7 – Loading firmware image file and selecting the “Upgrade” Button.
XBMC Media Player
1080p & 720p Samples were tested with latest XBMC Media Player Build 14.0 Alpha 7. Still, there isn’t hardware acceleration and decoding Support from Rockchip Soc Company. Frames dropped and video playback is slow and choppy. Best Solution is using Special XBMC build specially made for Rockchip devices or install XAF Custom XBMC build, Both support full hardware video decoding playback with external Media player software such as MX Player.
Highly recommended using pre installed XBMC build provided by Egreat company, specially made for Rockchip based devices. It`s the the easiest way to use external media player support since the APK Package also includes a build in player. This way you don’t have to deal with any complicated installations or special settings.
Installing & Configuring XAF XBMC with MX Player
